Exactly as the title says, there is not enough space from the muffin pan to the top plate to allow the muffins to rise. I made cornbread muffins in them one night and it burnt the tops where they hit the top plate. Might be ok if you make mini-muffins and don't fill even halfway full. I filled them about 2/3 full.
